Unforgettable Moments Of Summer Camp In Framlingham College . |
|
Framlingham College has brought more wonderful memories to us than one can imagine. At the end of the camp, we all understood that summer camp was the right place to grow and develop independence in a loving environment. If you’re a first-timer for a summer camp, the whole idea of leaving home and living with a bunch of strangers for two weeks can be pretty scary. What if you miss your family? What if you don’t like the place or friends? I think everybody in our group felt that way when they first decided to join the 2 weeks summer camp program. We all knew friends of ours were going too, but we had never been to camp, and we did not know what to expect. But our fears were immediately put to rest when we arrived at camp. Framlingham College was a great place in a great environment. It was founded in 1865 under Royal Charter as the Suffolk memorial to Queen Victoria's husband, Prince Albert. Today the college is a centre of all round academic excellence. It enjoys a fine reputation as a fully co-educational school with outstanding facilities and a friendly, caring atmosphere. All of the staff was very polite and energetic. And we all understood that summer camp was the right place to grow and develop independence in a loving environment. Framlingham College has brought more wonderful memories to us than one can imagine. The friends we met there were incredible, the teachers and counsellors were great, and everything about it was fun. All the games we played, the hikes we have been on and things we have learned from camp are just a few of the endless wonderful things that we will always remember about camp. The camp schedule was unusual in that you had a choice of activities such as football, volleyball, basketball, tennis, arts and crafts, hiking, walking to castle, walking to town and swimming. Each week was divided into two three-day blocks with four activity sessions each day. At the beginning of every week there was a big meeting where all the counsellors creatively presented explanations of the activities they were going to lead, and you’d fill out a sheet, checking off your first choices. It was pretty cool. If you weren’t a sports person, there were plenty of arty or cultural things to do. The day camp ended was one of the saddest moments of our lives. Framlingham College was fully equipped with anything and everything necessary to make our summer season an unforgettable one! Right about now, we really wish we were back in there. |
